ISO 45001:2018 (OHSMS) Lead Auditor Course
Main Objective:
The main objective of the ISO 45001 standard is to reduce occupational injuries and diseases by promoting and protecting physical as well as mental health.
The ISO 45001 certification defines the diverse concerns required for an occupational health and safety management system that enable businesses to cater safe to and healthy workplaces by avoiding work-related injury and ill health, and by proactively enhancing their occupational health and safety performance.
What is OHSMS 45001-2018?
An ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management System is a way of doing things which primarily protects your employees and key stakeholders from harm.
It protects employees against ill health caused or made worse by work as well as injury through accidents. It furthermore plays a critical role in ensuring that visitors to your premises, such as customers and contractors, are safe. Improving your Health and Safety System to the level required by ISO 45001 helps you anticipate and control health and safety risks and comply with regulations. By doing so, reduces your risk of litigation, improves productivity and gives your customers confidence.
ISO 45001:2018 specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, and gives guidance for its use, to enable organizations to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving its OH&S performance.
ISO 45001:2018 is applicable to any organization that wishes to establish, implement and maintain an OH&S management system to improve occupational health and safety, eliminate hazards and minimize OH&S risks (including system deficiencies), take advantage of OH&S opportunities, and address OH&S management system nonconformities associated with its activities.
ISO 45001:2018 helps an organization to achieve the intended outcomes of its OH&S management system. Consistent with the organization's OH&S policy, the intended outcomes of an OH&S management system include:
• continual improvement of OH&S performance.
• fulfilment of legal requirements and other requirements.
• achievement of OH&S objectives.
ISO 45001:2018 is applicable to any organization regardless of its size, type and activities. It is applicable to the OH&S risks under the organization's control, taking into account factors such as the context in which the organization operates and the needs and expectations of its workers and other interested parties.
ISO 45001:2018 does not state specific criteria for OH&S performance, nor is it prescriptive about the design of an OH&S management system.
ISO 45001:2018 enables an organization, through its OH&S management system, to integrate other aspects of health and safety, such as worker wellness/wellbeing.
ISO 45001:2018 does not address issues such as product safety, property damage or environmental impacts, beyond the risks to workers and other relevant interested parties.
ISO 45001:2018 can be used in whole or in part to systematically improve occupational health and safety management. However, claims of conformity to this document are not acceptable unless all its requirements are incorporated into an organization's OH&S management system and fulfilled without exclusion.
What will I learn from ISO 45001 Lead Auditor course?
ISO 45001 aims to provide the required skills and proper knowledge to perform a complete OH&SM audit. It also enables to plan and conduct audit effectively.
What is the purpose of OHSMS 45001:2018?
OHSMSs help organisations to continually improve their safety performance and compliance to health and safety legislation and standards. In doing so, they establish safer working environments that protect people at work by eliminating, or better managing, health and safety hazards.
ISO 45001 Protect Me Against All Health & Safety Incidents?
A Health and Safety management system is a way of managing the demands placed upon your business by various risks and legislation, so it can’t guarantee that you won’t have any H&S incidents. It will, however, help reduce the number of incidents and support you in proving that you take a proactive stance when it comes to protecting your staff. It also provides evidence that you have processes and procedures so you can take further action should an employee fail to follow them.

The ISO 45001 course will help delegates understand the auditing process, as well as the key changes from the OHSAS 18001, and how to identify and assess workplace hazards. Below we list the Top 5 skills you will gain.
